NH Task Force on Online Banking Access and Safety

In partnership with the NH Bankers Association and a growing array of those who represent and serve low- and moderate-income (LMI) individuals and families, NCDE’s Bank On New Hampshire coalition has formed the New Hampshire Task Force on Online Banking Access and Safety, whose aim is to mobilize NH banks and credit unions to, in turn, mobilize their interested employees to serve as volunteers kindly providing the following assistance, especially for LMI families with school-age children across NH:

• Assisting LMI youths and families to become fully banked with any of the growing number of Bank On-certified checking accounts
• Assisting LMI families with school-age children to apply for T-Mobile Project 10Million’s free mobile hotspots that come with five years of free high-speed (5G and 4G) broadband access)
• Providing financial literacy classes and mentoring for one or more of the following:
  • Elementary students
  • Middle school students
  • High school students
  • High school youths and their parents/caregivers who are considering how much college debt they can safely take on
  • Youths and adults in workforce development programs who need to be prepared to manage their finances when they begin, for the first time, to receive living-wage income
• Providing cybersafety classes and mentoring for one or more of the same five audiences above (elementary students, etc.) so that they can engage in online banking and e-commerce safely
